The existing remote access surveillance solutions such as radar and cameras are sensitive to weather conditions (e.g., rain, dust, fog, and snow) and obstacles that lead to significant performance degradation due to the high false alert rate in these cases. The technical transition of drones to use commercial networks that allow remote control (i.e., cellular 3-5G, satellite comm’) is not covered by the traditional C-UAS (counter unmanned aerial system). Commercial networks enable hostile UAS intruders various options that are not limited by the operator location & Line-of-Sight (LoS), this is a significant new risk.
